Stubby-root nematode (Paratrichodorus porosus) is an ectoparasite of roots and is found in soil around the roots but never inside the roots. Bacterial gall (Rhizobium rhizogenes) is a soil dwelling bacteria which lives in the rhizospere of roots of the hosts.

Stubby-root nematode (Paratrichodorus porosus) and Bacterial gall (Rhizobium rhizogenes) are not known on the seed export pathway. Certification of freedom from both of these pests can be endorsed on a phytosanitary certificate without sighting supporting evidence.
The consignment must be treated with an appropriate pesticide (fungicide and insecticide) at manufacturers recommended rates.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.
