Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Plant Department of Agriculture has advised that Tomato spotted wilt virus is transmitted by vector (thrips) and is not seed borne and found on the seed export pathway.
Plant Department of Agriculture has advised that there is no evidence that Tomato foot rot (Phytophthora cryptogea) is associated with Desmodium intortum seed.

Consignment of Desmodium intortum seed may be certified free of Tomato spotted wilt virus and Tomato foot rot (Phytophthora cryptogea) without sighting supporting evidence.
Consignments are to be treated with appropriate pesticides (fungicide and insecticide) at manufacturers recommended rate.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
