Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Case applies to whole roasted beans only.

Whole roasted coffee beans exporters can obtain a Plant Quarantine Service Certificate (PQSC) from the Philippines NPPO in order for their product to be categorised under Category 1 (which negates the requirement for an import permit and phytosanitary certificate). For exporters who have managed to obtain a PQSC, a Certificate as to Condition (NX188B) is required. Consignments exported under a PQSC are not subject to phytosanitary inspection by an Authorised Officer.

Note: 
If an exporter is unable to obtain a PQSC, the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at time of inspection and a phytosanitary certificate with no additional declarations will be issued.
If required by the import permit, consignments are to be fumigated with phosphine at 2grm/m3 for 72 hours at 28 degrees Celsius.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
