Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


There is no evidence of Armillaria root rot (Armillaria luteobubalina) associated with seeds. Common spiral nematode (Helicotylenchus dihystera) is a soil borne migratory ecto-parasite with no evidence of its association with seeds. It is spread with water, contaminated soil and machinery.

Armillaria root rot (Armillaria luteobubalina) and Common spiral nematode (Helicotylenchus dihystera) are not known on the seed export pathway. Certification of freedom from both of these pests can be endorsed on a phytosanitary certificate without sighting supporting evidence.
The consignment must be treated with an appropriate pesticide (fungicide and insecticide) at manufacturers recommended rates.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) Using official procedures, the consignment was found free of Armillaria root rot (Armillaria luteobubalina) and Common spiral nematode (Helicotylenchus dihystera),
2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of  Silver whitefly (Bemesia tabaci) and Cottony Cushion scale (Icerya purchasi).
