Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Visual inspection by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources Authorised Officer is required to endorse freedom from Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis) and Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica).

Note:
  • The statement "Seeds in this consignment were sourced from a seedbed officially inspected for the National Plant Protection National Organisation of Australia" is based on Peru's recognition that crop inspection is undertaken for the seed producers and this statement has to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate to meet Peru's plant quarantine regulations 2003.
Consignments are to be treated with:

  • Captan (5 grm/Kgm of seed);

OR

  • Any other approved fungicide at recommended manufacturers requirements (when specified on the import permit).


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.


Note:
  • The import requirements reference benomyl fungicide treatment, however there are no products containing benomyl which are registered by the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority for use in Australia.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 3983)
1) Seeds in this consignment were sourced from a seedbed officially inspected for the National Plant Protection National Organisation of Australia during during the period of active growth and found to be free of Diplodia leaf spot (Stenocarpella macrospora), Ear rot of corn (Stenocarpella maydis), Bean bacterial brown spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv syringae) and Head smut of corn (Sphacelotheca reiliana),
2) The consignment is free of Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis) and Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 674)
1) The seeds in consignment were found free through laboratory testing of Diplodia leaf spot (Stenocarpella macrospora), Ear rot of corn (Stenocarpella maydis), Bean bacterial brown spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv syringae) and Head smut of corn (Sphacelotheca reiliana),
2) The consignment is free of Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis) and Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica).
