Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material, including weeds, cereal refuse and insects at any stage of development (including eggs), especially cattle tick (Boophilus microplus).

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


ICR also applies to wheaten straw intended for use in revegetation.
Consignments are to be treated with:

  • Methyl bromide fumigation at 80grm/m3 for 48 hours at 21 degrees Celsius or above;

OR

Ethylene oxide fumigation under initial minimal vacuum of 50.5 kPa at: 

  • 1500grm/m3 for 4 hours at 50 degrees Celsius;

OR

  • 1500grm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees Celsius;

OR

  • Heat treatment at 85 degrees Celsius for 24 hours.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
