Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seedsand extraneous material; including whole seed and cereal grains.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignments are to be packed in new, clean bags or cleaned containers.

Exporters may be required to obtain a declaration that the meal is for animal consumption and free of animal diseases from the department if required by the import permit. If a manufacturer's declaration stating composition of product is provided, the department can issue a Certificate as to Condition (GX46) that states based on Australia's Plant Health status, the feed ingredients are fit for animal consumption.

Refer to import permit to determine the appropriate container or vessel cleaning and treatment requirements.

Containerised bulk loaded or bagged consignments, containers must be thoroughly cleansed andsanitised with malathion or fumigated with methyl bromide at 48 grm/m3 for 12hours are 21 degree celsius before loading;

OR

Containerised bulk loaded consignments, containers must be thoroughly cleaned through vacuum cleaning or container wash facilities using a high water pressure hose. Container must be sanitised with synthetic pyrethroid insecticide before loading.

Bulk shipment in vessel must have the hold cleansed andsanitised with malathion or fumigated with methyl bromide at 80 grm/m3 for 24 hoursare 21 degree celsius or above before loading.

Container and vessel hold fumigation certificates are tobe affixed to each consignment.

Refer to import permit to determine if treatment of the consignment is required.

Consignments are to be heat treated at 90 degree Celsiusor above for 50-60 seconds during processing.

The details of the heat treatment are only to be endorsed onthe phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section if required by the import permit.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
