Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments are to be treated prior to export by:

  • Heat treated up to 74 degrees Celsius and held at this temperature for a period according to the thickness of the timber;

OR

  •  Kiln dried by a standard kiln drying procedure to maximum moisture content of 14%. Temperature and time must be at least equal to:

  • Fumigated with Methyl bromide at 48 gm/m3 for 24 hour at 21 degrees Celsius or above.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
