Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, evidence of disease, weed seeds and extraneous material. 

A copy of the import permit and accompanying PQC must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

A Manufacturer's declaration is required – based on the PQC referenced, it will need to declare either:

  • that the products have undergone sterilisation, and are free of insect pests including beetle borers, weed seeds, pathogens, soil and other impurities,

OR

  • that the products do not contain any animal blood bone and meal, and must be of plant origin only.
If required, the consignment must be sterilised with details of sterilisation to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

If required, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
