Consignment are to be packed in clean, new packages labelled with full botanical name, quantity of seed in each package and country of origin.
If stated by import permit or accompanying instrument in writing the seed must be endorsed free from Myrtle rust (Puccinia psidii). Exporter is to present laboratory analysis as evidence to Authorised Officer at time of inspection.
If stated by import permit consignments are tobe treated with:
- Methyl bromide at 48grm/m3 for 2 ½ hours at 21 degrees Celsius and above;
OR
- Phosphine at 5grm/m3 for seven days at temperature above 25 degrees Celsius;
OR
- Phosphine at 5grm/m3 for ten days at temperatures between 15 – 25 degrees Celsius;
AND
- Consignments are to be treated by dusting (to excess) with an appropriate insecticide and/or fungicide at recommended manufacturers requirements.
