Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Seed must be treated (dusted to excess) with an approved fungicide and / or insecticide at recommended manufacturers requirements

Product must undergo fumigation with:

  • Methyl bromide at NAP, 48grm/m3 for 2.5 hours at 21 degrees Celsius and above;

OR

  • Phosphine at 5grm/m3 for seven (7) days at temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius or ten (10) days at temperatures between 15 - 25 degrees Celsius.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
