This ICR applies to vegetables destined to Palau. 

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material. 

Product must be in original packages stating country of origin and description of produce.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Shipment must not be exposed to the Queensland fruit fly or the Mediterranean fruit fly or other known quarantine pests not established in Palau.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING IMPORT PERMITS: The fumigation of fresh vegetables to Palau is not required, as agreed to between the Horticulture Exports Program and the NPPO of Palau on 12/07/2024. This agreement remains in place until the department is advised, otherwise, from the NPPO of Palau. Exporters and authorised officers can disregard the requirement to fumigate fresh vegetables on the import permit. 

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
