Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

These conditions apply to flours, meals or powders of the following seeds and grains:

  • Rice (Oryza sativa) 
  • Chickpeas (Cicer arietinum) 
  • Cucurbit seed (Cucurbita spp.; Cucumis spp.; Citrullus spp.) 
  • Cumin seed (Cuminum cyminum) 
  • Safflower seed (Carthamus tinctorius) 
  • Bean seed (Phaseolus spp.) 
  • Soybean (Glycine max) 
  • Mung beans, cowpeas (Vigna spp.) 
  • Lentils (Lens culinaris)
  • Wheat (Triticum aestivum)
  • Coriander seed (Coriandrum sativum)
  • Celery seed (Apium graveolens)
  • Peanuts (Arachis hypogaea)
  • Faba bean (Vicia faba)
  • Pigeon Pea (Cajanus cajan)
  • Pea seed (Pisum sativum)
  • Fennel seed (Foeniculum spp.)
Prior to export, the goods must be treated with one of the following treatment methods:

Consignments must be fumigated with methyl bromide at:
  • 32 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 28 degrees Celsius or above;
OR

Dry heat treatment at:


  • a minimum temperature of 60°C for 2 hours, measured at the core of the goods; 

OR

Controlled atmosphere treatment performed at atmospheric pressure within 21 days of export at one of the prescribed treatment rates below under following conditions;

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Note:

If the consignment is not treated Offshore. The consignment is to be treated after arrival in Pakistan with the same available treatment conditions at the first port of entry.
