Consignments to be fumigated with either methyl bromide or phosphine prior to export:

Treatment must be completed within 21 days prior to export.
Note:
For goods that are to be packed into gas-proof packaging or plastic wrapping they must be fumigated immediately prior to packing or sealing. Additional declaration 5377 applies, exporter to provide declaration as evidence.
Methyl bromide
- 32 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees Celsius or above (NAP);
OR
- 40 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 16-20.9 degrees Celsius (NAP);
- 48 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 11-15.9 degrees Celsius (NAP);
OR
- 56 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 10-10.9 degrees Celsius (NAP).
Methyl bromide dosage compensation is not allowed where the ambient temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius.
Phosphine
- 1.5 grm/m3 for 7 days at 25 degrees Celsius or above;
OR
- 1.5 grm/m3 for 10 days at 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Treatment must be completed within 21 days prior to export.
Note:
- For goods that are being exported as either loose, or in non-gas proof bags, no additional declaration applies.
