Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packaging and clearly labelled with the full botanical name (genus and species).

The following Chloris seed species are not permitted into Pakistan:
  • Chloris chloridea
  • Chloris equitans
  • Chloris halophila
  • Chloris paspaloides
  • Chloris petraea
  • Chloris virgata

All seeds in the consignment must be identified to the species level to ensure no prohibited seed species are being exported to Pakistan. Seeds must not be certified as "Chloris spp".

Notes:

  • Chloris chloridea, Chloris equitans,  Chloris halophila, Chloris paspaloides and Chloris petraea are not known to occur in Australia. For consignments of Australian-origin Chloris gayana seeds, no evidence is required to verify that the consignment is free of these listed prohibited seeds.
  • Consignments of Australian-origin Chloris gayana seeds must be tested for Chloris virgata seeds prior to export. A laboratory analysis certificate must be presented to the Authorised Officer as evidence of freedom from Chloris virgata seeds.
  • Consignments containing seeds of non-Australian origin must be tested for Chloris chloridea, Chloris equitans,  Chloris halophila, Chloris paspaloides, Chloris petraea  and Chloris virgata seeds. A laboratory analysis certificate must be presented to the Authorised Officer as evidence of freedom from the listed prohibited Chloris seed species.
Consignment are to be accompanied by a seed testing report showing details of germination, abnormal seeds, inert materials, weed seeds and year of production if specified on the import permit.

If stated by import permit exporter must present evidence that permit listed prohibited weed seeds are not part of the consignment, and that no contaminants or disease symptoms were found. Visual inspection by Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from live insects, soil, animal parts and extraneous matter. If requested, a Declaration and Certificate as to Condition (EX188) may be issued with statement reflecting above.

Seed must be packed inclean, new packaging, clearly labelled with full botanical nameincluding genus and species (when specified on the import permit).

Non-GMO certification

If certification is required (refer to import permit/NPPO notification), the exporter is responsible for ensuring that the consignment is accompanied by a Certificate as to Condition attesting that the consignment has not been genetically modified.

If requested, a Certificate as to Condition (Grain - GX46/Horticulture - HX46) may be issued for the consignment if specifically supported from information supplied by the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) and where it is a government requirement of the importing country for non-GMO certification (refer to import permit/NPPO Notification).

The following text must be added to the additional declaration field when a GX46/HX46 template is added to the RFP:

The Office of the Gene Technology Regulator has advised the department that there has been no intentional release into the Australian environment of genetically modified product(s) listed on this certificate

Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate fungicide at recommended manufacturers requirements when specified on the import permit.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
