'Black matpe' is a synonym of 'Black gram'. Consignments listed under the name 'Black matpe' can be exported under this Micor case.
Consignment should be free from stored grain pests and other impurities including pest eaten damaged seed (when specified on import permit).
Consignments are also to be absolutely free from soil, dirt and soil lumps (when specified on import permit).
"Pest eaten damaged seeds" is a commercial matter and does not apply to phytosanitary certification (when specified on import permit).
The requirement; "Should also be absolutely free from soil, dirt and soil lumps" is covered by the standard endorsement on the Phytosanitary Certificate.
Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 7644:
- Visual inspection of a representative sample by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from regulated pests (live insects) and regulated weed seeds.
- A laboratory analysis certificate stating a representative sample of the consignment has been tested and found free from Pakistan's regulated weed seeds is required to endorse freedom from Pakistan's regulated weed seeds. Pakistan's list of quarantine and noxious weed species can be found in Schedule V (p.130-131) of the Plant Quarantine Rules 2019.
Consignments are to be fumigated with:
Methyl bromide at:
- 32 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 28 degree Celsius or above;
- 36 grm/m3 for 48 hours at 11 degree Celsius or above (when temperature is not specified on import permit) or temperature specified on the import permit.
Phosphine at:
- 3 grm/m3 for 7 days at 10-15 degree Celsius;
- 3 grm/m3 for 6 days at 16-20 degree Celsius;
- 3 grm/m3 for 5 days at 21-25 degree Celsius;
- 3 grm/m3 for 4 days at 26 degree Celsius or above.
OR
- Consignments are to be heat treated at appropriate temperature, humidity and duration as per prescribed standard (For insect management point; product temperature must be above 50C and duration will depend on grain temperatures).
