2) The parent plants were inspected during the growing season and found free from Blackeye cowpea mosaic virus, Bean bacterial brown spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv syringae), Halo blight on bean pods (Pseudomonas savastanoi pv phaseolicola), Cowpea leaf spot (Xanthomonas axonopodis pv vignicola) and Foot rot (Phytophthora spp).
