A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


The specific species name must be provided and endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate.

Explanation of Endorsement 6780:

  • The pests of quarantine concern for Nigeria (which may not be stated on the import permit) are Alfalfa bacterical wilt (Corynebacterium insidiosum), Stem canker (Ascochyta caulicola), Black stem & Leafspot (Ascochyta imperfecta) and Ascochyta blight (Ascochyta lethalis under Nigerian legislation; current scientific name Didymella lethalis).
  • A combination of laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from these pests

1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing from all pests and diseases of quarantine concern for Nigeria.
