Seed listed in the Plant Biosecurity Indexas "Basic" can be exported with or without a phytosanitarycertificate.
Option 1: Seed with a Phytosanitary certificate
For consignments certified in Australia andissued with a phytosanitary certificate:
- inspected in accordance with officialprocedure and found free of visually detectable regulated pests of New Zealand,and conforms with New Zealand's import requirements.
Option 2: Seed without a Phytosanitary certificate
On arrival in New Zealand the consignment/lots must be inspected at the importers expense.
Note: The import conditions are applicable only to seeds for sowing listed in the Plant Biosecurity Index as "Basic" and no import conditions are available under the Import Health Standards: 155.02.05 Import of Seeds for Sowing.
