These importing country requirements relate to ceremonial items for use at the festival of tabernacles in New Zealand.
The ceremonial items are to be sourced from Israel and are transported to New Zealand, from Israel, via Australia.
This ICR applies to Tabernacle ceremonial items being re-exported using a re-export phytosanitary certificate (EX25).
Endorsement number 6536 is to be listed in the coded statement field of the RFP.
The Israeli NPPO must conduct a phytosanitary inspection and issue a phytosanitary certificate as per Australia's requirements.
A re-export phytosanitary certificate issued by Australia must accompany the products to New Zealand in addition to a copy of the original phytosanitary certificate issued by the Israeli NPPO.
The goods can arrive in New Zealand from 10 September 2026.
The size of the consignment imported into New Zealand is limited to:
- 25 fresh Citrus medica (citron/etrog) fruit;
- 25 fresh cut Phoenix dactylifera (date palm) fronds; and
- 75 fresh cut Myrtus communis (common myrtle) branches.
The goods may be imported into New Zealand as:
- 25 sets of 1 fresh citron fruit, 1 fresh cut date palm frond and 3 fresh cut myrtle branches bound by a dry woven palm frond receptacle; or
- a single consignment of goods, not separated into sets.
Product security must be maintained prior to export to New Zealand in order to avoid contamination of the commodities with Australian pests and diseases.
The entire consignment will be inspected on arrival in New Zealand.

- Endorsement 5867 text must be entered in the additional declaration field of the EX25 re-export phytosanitary certificate template.

1) The product in this consignment has been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free of any visually detectable regulated pests specified by New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI).
