This ICR applies to Rubus allegheniensis, Rubus argutus and Rubus idaeus only. 

 
All rubus stock must be imported under permit into post-entry quarantine in a Level 3B greenhouse facility accredited to Facility Standard: Post Entry Quarantine for Plants (MPI.STD.PEQ). Tissue culture material must be exflasked and grown there for at least 16 months. Testing procedures apply (see - Rubus Post-entry quarantine testing manual).

 
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

 
A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Plants in tissue culture must be produced in a facility under conditions that prevent contamination with regulated pests.

Cultures imported in growing media must have been grown in the vessel in which they are imported. The vessel (rigid container, bag or bottle) must be pest proof and transparent. The tissue culture medium must not contain fungicides or antibiotics (See the Import Health Standard 155.02.06: Importation of Nursery Stock). 

The Phytosanitary certificate must list the complete scientific name (genus and species) of all nursery stock in the consignment. 

 
The number of flasks/tubs/tubes in the consignment are to be declared on the phytosanitary certificate at all times.

 
Where clonal lines of tissue culture plants are being exported, the number of plants in each line must be recorded on the phytosanitary certificate.

 
LABELLING:Cultures must be clearly identified with their scientific name (genus and species) and clonal identity where applicable.

 
Each tissue culture plantlet must be exported to New Zealand in a separate container.

 
Explanation of endorsements
If the consignment includes clonal lines, EXDOC Endorsement No 2504 applies. 

 
If plants are not from clonal lines endorsement 2045 applies and each imported tissue culture plantlet must be tested separately in post entry quarantine.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement No 2504)
1) The tissue cultures in each clonal line have been derived from the same mother plant.
2) The tissue culture/plants in-vitro in this consignment, and the plants they were derived from, have only been grown in the country of origin, Australia, which is free from Xylella fastidiosa.

 
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement No 2045)
1) The tissue culture/plants in-vitro in this consignment, and the plants they were derived from, have only been grown in the country of origin, Australia, which is free from Xylella fastidiosa.
