Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

No phytosanitary certificate or on-arrival inspection is required for the following rice products:
  • Packaged (up to 25 kg) fordirect retail sale from:Australia, Canada,European Union, Japan,South Korea, UK, or USA.
  • Vacuum packaged fordirect retail sale from allcountries.
  • Ingredient in ready to cookretail packs withflavourings from allcountries. 
All other forms of rice must either be inspected on arrival, or accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate for re-export and a fumigation certificate from the country of origin endorsing treatment at one of the rates specified for Rice (Oryza sativa) on the Import Health Standard: Stored Plant Products for Human Consumption.

Details of treatment will not be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate for re-export.
