A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 2767:

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries recognises Australia as free of sudden oak death (Phytophthora ramorum).

Evidence of freedom from Sudden oak death (Phytophthora ramorum) is not required to be presented by the exporter.

All plants in the consignment are to be officially inspected and to be found free of any visually detectable regulated pests.

If visually detectable pests are found which are not listed in the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries Standard 155.02.06, the pest’s regulatory status must be established prior to certification. This information is available in MPI Biosecurity Organisms Register for Imported Commodities" on their web page.

All visible buds must be removed prior to export and on arrival in New Zealand the plant material is to be treated, under supervision of an inspector, at an MPI-registered transitional facility by dipping in Carbendazim or Thiophante methyl at a rate of 250mg a.i. per litre.

Benomyl is a banned fungicide in Australia by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority.

Each type of plant in the consignment must be clearly identified with its scientific name (genus and species).

Only inert/synthetic material may be used for the protection, packaging and shipping materials of the nursery stock.
Exporters have the choice of certifying to the media requirements as per Endorsement 2767;

OR

Plants which have been raised in media containing soil must have the roots of the plants dipped in Fenamiphos at 1.6g a.i. per litre of water for 30 minutes.

All plants and cuttings must be treated for insects and mites as per Section 2.2.1.06 (b) of the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries Standard 155.02.06: Importation of Nursery Stock (published on the Ministry of Primary Industries website).

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) The plants have been sourced from a “Pest free area”, free from Sudden oak death (Phytophthora ramorum),
2) The plants were raised from seed/cuttings in soil-less rooting media in containers maintained out of contact with the soil.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 2768)
1) The plants have been sourced from a “Pest free area”, free from sudden oak death (Phytophthora ramorum).
