Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Each type of plant in theconsignment must be clearly identified with its scientific name (genus andspecies).

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

All plants in the consignment are to be officially inspected and to be foundfree of any visually detectable regulated pests.

If visually detectable pests are found which are not listed in the New Zealand Ministry for Primary IndustriesStandard 155.02.06, the pest’s regulatory statusmust be established prior to certification. This information is available inMPI’s “Biosecurity Organisms Register for Imported Commodities" on the MPIwebsite.

Exporters have the choice ofcertifying to the media requirements as per endorsement 1917 or plants whichhave been raised in media containing soil must have the roots of the plantsdipped in Fenamiphos at 1.6g a.i. per litre of water for 30 minutes.

All plants must be treated for insects and mites as Section 2.2.1.6 (b) of theNew Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries Standard 155.02.06: Importation ofNursery Stock (published on the MPI website).

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the department at time of authorisation.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1917)
1) The plants were raised from seed/cuttings in soil-less rooting media incontainers maintained out of contact with the soil.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 1955)

1) The roots of the plants havebeen dipped in fenamiphos at 1.6g a.i. per litre of water for 30 minutes.
