Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


All cuttings in the consignment are to be officially inspected and to be found free of any visually detectable regulated pests.

If visually detectable pests are found which are not listed in the Department of Agriculture New Zealand import health statndard, the pests regulatory status must be established prior to certification.

All cuttings must be treated for insects and mites as Section 2.2.1.06 (b) of the Department of Agriculture New Zealand Standard 155.02.06: Importation of Nursery Stock (published on the Department of Agriculture New Zealand web site)

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.


If any required treatment is not completed within the prescribed period prior to export, these measures must be completed in New Zealand where such services are available, and by prior arrangement with MAF
