Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

 

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Explanation of the endorsement 


Endorsement 555:

is to be used for consignments in which the seed is sourced from a pest free area free from Cladosporium cladosporioides f. sp. pisicola. No treatment is required for consignments using Endorsement No #555.

Endorsement 556:

is to be used for consignments treated for Cladosporium cladosporioides f. sp. pisicola. Refer to the Treatment section for details.

Pest Free Area declarations may only be issued by the state biosecurity jurisdiction in accordance with ISPM No. 4 ‘Requirements for the establishment of pest free areas.’ Presentation of crop inspection reports only cannot be used as supporting documentation to endorse a ‘Pest Free Area.’
 
Pest Free Place of Production declarations may be endorsed based on presentation of a crop inspection report.


Exporters to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement to the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


All the consignments are to be treated with one of the followings:


METHYL BROMIDE AT:

  • 40 grm/m3 for 3 hours at 20 degree Celsius or above at 91 kPa.

OR

  • 16 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 20 degree Celsius or above.

OR

  • 24 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 10-19 degree Celsius.


PHOSPHINE AT:

  • 2 grm/m3 for 7 days at 10-15 degree Celsius; 

OR

  • 2 grm/m3 for 6 days at 16-20 degree Celsius

OR

  • 2 grm/m3 for 5 days at 21-25 degree Celsius

OR

  • 2 grm/m3 for 4 days at 26-35 degree Celsius


COLD TREATMENT AT:


  • 18 degree Celsius for 7 days.

Approved treatment requirements if Endorsement 556 is applied: 

  • Metalaxyl-M at 0.35 grm a.i per kg of seed, fludioxonil at 0.1 grm a.i per kg of seed and cymoxanil 0.2 grm a.i per kg of seed; 

OR

  • Fosetyl aluminium at 1.53 grm a.i per kg of seed, thiram at 0.5 grm a.i per kg of seed and thiabendazole at 0.37 grm a.i per kg of seed; 

OR


One of the following fungicide combinations, which must be applied at maximum label rate may be used, provided a copy of the registered label is presented on arrival with the import documents:  

  • Metalaxyl or Mefenoxam, and Captan; 

OR

  • Metalaxyl or Mefenoxam, Captan and Thiram; 

OR

  • Metalaxyl or Mefenoxam, Captan and Fludioxonil.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

 

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 555)
1) Broad bean mottle virus, Clover yellow mosaic virus, Pea early-browning virus,  Pea enation mosaic virus and Peanut stunt virus are not known to occur in Australia,
2) The Pisum seeds for sowing in this consignment have been sourced from a Pest free area, free from Cladosporium cladosporioides f. sp. pisicola, Broad bean stain virus and Peanut mottle virus.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 556)
1) Broad bean mottle virus, Clover yellow mosaic virus, Pea early-browning virus, Pea enation mosaic virus and Peanut stunt virus are not known to occur in Australia,
2) The Pisum seeds for sowing in this consignment have been sourced from a Pest free place of production, free from Broad bean stain virus and Peanut mottle virus.
3) The Pisum seeds for sowing in this consignment have been treated with a MPI approved treatment option for Cladosporium cladosporioides f. sp. pisicola.
