Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

This Micor case applies to all Pinus spp seed listed in the New Zealand Plant Biosecurity Index that are not prohibited.

Consignments are to be treated prior to export with either Captan or Thiram at 2 grm a.i. per kgm of seed.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

Seed for sowing that does not meet the requirements of the NZ Ministry for Primary Industries import health standard will not be given Department of Agriculture clearance on arrival in New Zealand. Seed requiring treatment may be imported into New Zealand untreated but will not be given Department of Agriculture clearance until an approved treatment has been applied.

1) Fir coneworm (Dioryctria abietivorella), White pine cone beetle (Conophthorus coniperda) and Pitch canker (Fusarium circinatum syn Fusarium subglutinans f sp pini) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was inspected and found to be free of seeds from the prohibited plant species specified by the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries.
