Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


The ICRs are applicable to Physalis peruviana which is the synonym of Physalis edulis. 

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 2699:

  • An area freedom certificate issued by a state/territory government is required to endorse freedom from Potato spindle tuber viroid.

Endorsement 2700:

  • A place of production freedom declaration from the state/territory government, grower or a third party crop monitor must be presented as evidence to endorse place of production freedom from Potato spindle tuber viroid.

Endorsement 2701:

  • A laboratory analysis certificate endorsing results of testing on a representative sample must be presented as evidence of freedom from Potato spindle tuber viroid.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 2699)
1) Seed in this consignment has inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free of any visually detectable pests and confirms to New Zealand's import requirements,
2) Physalis edulis seeds have been sourced from pest free area free from Potato spindle tuber viroid.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 2700)
1) Seed in this consignment has inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free of any visually detectable pests and confirms to New Zealand's import requirements,
2) Physalis edulis seeds have been sourced from pest free place of production free from Potato spindle tuber viroid.

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 2701)
1) Seed in this consignment has inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free of any visually detectable pests and confirms to New Zealand's import requirements,
2) Physalis edulis seeds have been officially tested on representative sample and using appropriate methods, and found to be free from Potato spindle tuber viroid.
