Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

 

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments which are not sourced from a pest free area of Blight disease of rice are to be certified with endorsement 3877 and treated with one of the following treatments:


  • Metalaxyl-M at 0.35 grm a.i per kg of seed, fludioxonil at 0.1 grm a.i per kg of seed and cymoxanil 0.2 grm a.i per kg of seed.

  • Fosetyl aluminium at 1.53 grm a.i per kg of seed, thiram at 0.5 grm a.i per kg of seed and thiabendazole at 0.37 grm a.i per kg of seed.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Seed for sowing that does not meet the requirements of the NZ Ministry for Primary Industries import health standard will not be given Department of Agriculture clearance on arrival in New Zealand. Seed requiring treatment may be imported into New Zealand untreated but will not be given Department of Agriculture clearance until an approved treatment has been applied.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 588)
1) Larger grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus), Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides argillaceus), Bruchid beetle (Acanthoscelides obvelatus), Seed beetle (Bruchidius atrolineatus), Seed beetle (Bruchidius incarnates), Mexican bean weevil (Zabrotes subfasciatus), Pod borer (Etiella grisea), Pod borer (Etiella grisea drososcia), Pod moth (Cydia fabivora), Adzuki pod worm (Matsumuraeses phaseoli), Scab (Elinoe phaseoli), Phoma exigua var. diversispora, Artichoke yellow ringspot virus, Broad bean mottle virus, Cowpea severe mosaic virus, Pea early-browning virus, Peanut stunt virus, Southern bean mosaic virus and Tomato black ring virus are not known to occur in Australia,
2) The seed has been sourced from a pest free area and/or a pest free place of production, free from Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens), Bean common mosaic virus (Blackeye cowpea mosaic strain) and Peanut mottle virus,
3) The seed has been sourced from a pest free area, free from Blight disease of rice (Cochliobolus miyabeanus),4) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Pea weevil (Bruchus pisorum), Cowpea weevil (Callosobruchus analis), Cowpea weevil (Callosobruchus maculates), Cowpea weevil (Callosobruchus phaseoli) and Limabean pod borer (Etiella zinckenella).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 3877)
1) Artichoke yellow ringspot virus, Broad bean mottle virus, Cowpea severe mosaic virus, Pea early-browning virus, Peanut stunt virus, Southern bean mosaic virus, Tomato black ring virus, Scab (Elsinoe phaseoli) and Phoma exigua var. diversispora are not known to occur in Australia,
2) Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens), Bean common mosaic virus (Blackeye cowpea mosaic strain) and Peanut mottle virus are known not to occur in the area of production.
