Plants must be bare rooted.
Consignments must be clearly labelled with the scientific name (genus and species).
All plants in the consignment are to be officially inspected and to be found free of any visually detectable regulated pests.
If visually detectable pests are found which are not listed in the Ministry of Primary Industries import health standard, the pests regulatory status must be established prior to certification.

Exporters have the choice of certifying to the media requirements as per endorsement 2978;
OR
Plants which have been raised in media containing soil must have the roots of the plants dipped in Fenamiphos at 1.6g a.i. per litre of water for 30 minutes. EXDOC endorsement no 3489 must be used.
All plants must be treated for insects and mites as Section 2.2.1.06 (b) of the Ministry of Primary Industries Standard 155.02.06: Importation of Nursery Stock (published on the MPI web site).
If any required treatment is not completed within the prescribed period prior to export, these measures must be completed in New Zealand where such services are available, and by prior arrangement with MPI.
OR
