Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Seed listed in the Plant Biosecurity Index as "Basic" can be exported with or without a phytosanitary certificate.

Option 1: Seed with a phytosanitary certificate
For consignments certified in Australia and issued with a phytosanitary certificate:
- inspected in accordance with official procedure and found free of visually detectable New Zealand's regulated pests, and confirms to New Zealand's import requirements.

Option 2: Seed without a Phytosanitary certificate
On arrival in New Zealand the consignment or samples, drawn in accordance with approved sampling rules, are to be inspected by an inspector at the importer's expense.

Note: The import conditions are applicable to Leucospermum cordifolium seeds for sowing, and those listed in the Plant Biosecurity Index as "Basic".
