Seed listed in the Plant Biosecurity Index as "Basic" can be exported with or without a phytosanitary certificate.

Option 1: Seed with a phytosanitary certificate
For consignments certified in Australia and issued with a phytosanitary certificate:
- inspected in accordance with official procedure and found free of visually detectable New Zealand's regulated pests, and confirms to New Zealand's import requirements.

Option 2: Seed without a Phytosanitary certificate
On arrival in New Zealand the consignment or samples, drawn in accordance with approved sampling rules, are to be inspected by an inspector at the importer's expense.

Note: The import conditions are applicable to the following Leucadendron spp. seeds for sowing, and those listed in the Plant Biosecurity Index as "Basic".

Species must also be listed on phytosanitary certificate.
