A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Plants must be bare rooted

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

All plants in the consignment are to be officially inspected and to be found free  of any visually detectable regulated pests.


If visually detectable pests are found which are not listed in the Ministry of Primary Industries import health statndard, the pests regulatory status must be established prior to certification.

Exporters have the choice of certifying to the media requirements as per endorsement 1917.


OR


plants which have been raised in media containing soil must have the roots of the plants dipped in Fenamiphos at 1.6g a.i. per litre of water for 30 minutes.


All plants must be treated for insects and mites as Section 2.2.1.06 (b) of the Ministry of Primary Industries Standard 155.02.06: Importation of Nursery Stock (published on the MPI web site)


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the department at time of authorisation.


Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.


If any required treatment is not completed within the prescribed period prior to export, these measures must be completed in New Zealand where such services are available, and by prior arrangement with MPI

1) The plants were raised from seed/cuttings in soil-less rooting media in containers maintained out of contact with the soil.
