Each type of plant in the consignment must be clearly identified with its scientific name (genus and species).
All plants in the consignment are to be officially inspected and to be found free of any visually detectable regulated pests.
If visually detectable pests are found which are not listed in the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries Standard 155.02.06, the pest’s regulatory status must be established prior to certification. This information is available in MPI’s “Biosecurity Organisms Register for Imported Commodities" on the MPI website.
Exporters have the choice of certifying to the media requirements as per endorsement 1917;

Plants which have been raised in media containing soil must have the roots of the plants dipped in Fenamiphos at 1.6g a.i. per litre of water for 30 minutes.
All plants must be treated for insects and mites as Section 2.2.1.6 (b) of the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries Standard 155.02.06: Importation of Nursery Stock (published on the MPI website).
