Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Permitted entry without an accompanying phytosanitary certificate.


These import requirements apply to the following commercially manufactured or produced products only:
  • Amaranth (Amaranthus hypochondriacus ,caudatus or cruenius) - Seed
  • Annatto (Bixa orellana) - Processed colouring
  • Arrowroot - Ground
  • Barley (Hordeum spp.)
    • Rolled
    • Pearl form
    • Malted barley for brewing purposes
  • Bread mixes -Prepared and packaged for manufacturing (baking). Must not contain more than 5% of whole regulated seeds
  • Buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum)
    • Whole seed, cracked
    • Flour
  • Chia (Salvia columbariae or Salvia hispanica) - Seed
  • Corn / Maize (Zea spp.):
    • Polenta, Grit, Cornmeal, Cornflour
    • Popcorn in micro-waveable retail packs, including individually vacuum packed popcorn on the cob.

Note: Individual packs must be branded, less than 250 grams and can include plain, salted, buttered (if less than 5%), oiled and other flavourings.

Rubus - Seed –Phytosanitary certificate with Treatment section recorded as follows:

Heat treatment at a minimum of 85 Degrees Celsius  at least 40% RH for at least 15 continuous hours to destroy viability (15 continuous hours to begin only when the middle of the stack has attained the minimum temperature) OR Autoclave at 118 Degrees Celsius  for 30 minutes at 100 Kpa.

OR

No Phytosanitary certificate and upon arrival: autoclaved at 118 Degrees Celsius for 30 minutes at 100 Kpa provided the autoclave facility has the capacity available or heat treated at 85 Degrees Celsius  at least 40% RH for at least 15 continuous hours (15 continuous hours to begin only when the middle of the stack has attained the minimum temperature), provided suitable facilities are available.

Non-approved brands of Wild Rice (Zizania spp.):

Treat upon arrival only: autoclaved at 118 Degrees Celsius for 30 minutes at 100 Kpa provided the autoclave facility has the capacity available or heat treated at 85 Degrees Celsiusat least 40% RH for at least 15 continuous hours (15 continuous hours to begin only when the middle of the stack has attained the minimum temperature), provided suitable facilities are available.

OR

A germination test (upon arrival) showing a negative result and inspection for contaminants.

Hemp (Cannabis sativa) - Seed:

Upon arrival only: autoclaved at 118 Degrees Celsius for 30 minutes at 100 Kpa provided the autoclave facility has the capacity available or heat treated at 85 Degrees Celsius at least 40% RH for at least 15 continuous hours (15 continuous hours to begin only when the middle of the stack has attained the minimum temperature), provided suitable facilities are available.
