Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 6278: 
  • Ramularia coriandri is not known to occur in Australia. No supporting evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.

All Coriandrum seeds must be treated using one of the treatment options below as per MPI Standard MPI-STD-ABTRTApproved Biosecurity Treatments.

  • Carbendazim at 2.5 grm a.i per kg of seed;

OR

  • Thiophanate methyl at 2.5 grm a.i per kg of seed;

OR

  • Fludioxonil and Metalaxyl at maximum seed label rate;

OR

  • Fludioxonil and Mefenoxam at maximum seed label rate.

If treatment is undertaken in Australia prior to export: 

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
 

If treatment is undertaken in Australia prior to export, then the treatment details are to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate.
Treatment may be approved to occur on arrival in New Zealand. Evidence of this approval must be show to the Authorised officer at time of inspection an presented to the department at time of authorisation. If treatment is undertaken on arrival in New Zealand, then no treatment details are to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate.

Note:
  • The MPI Standard references Benomyl fungicide treatment, however there are no products containing Benomyl which are registered by the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority for use in Australia.
  • A copy of the label must be presented with the import documents if a combination of fungicides is applied at maximum seed label rate.
