Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
These ICRs only apply to species in the Plant Biosecurity Index listed under Import Specifications for Seed as “see 155.02.05 under Coffea”.

Coffea spp seed for sowing for import into New Zealand must originate from one of the approved countries listed below.

Approved countries: Australia, Cook Islands, Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga
Coffea spp seeds must be treated as per MPI Standard MPI-STD-ABTRT Approved Biosecurity Treatments as follows:
  • Captan at 2 grm a.i. per kg of seed
OR
  • Thiram at 2 grm a.i. per kg of seed

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
