This ICR only applies to species in the Plant BiosecurityIndex listed under Import Specifications for Seed as "see 155.02.05 under Citrus".

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Phytosanitary certificate must state the genus, species and where applicable, variety of the seed. All hybrid species must be clearly identified as hybrid species, and either listed in the MPI Plant Biosecurity Index as hybrid species eligible to be imported, or identified by the full scientific names of both parents. 

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and to present to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements:

Endorsement 1002
  • Citrus greening (Candidatus liberibacter spp) and Citrus canker (Xanthomonas campestris pv. citri) are known not to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pest.
Note:
The exporter must ensure the complete scientific name (genus and species) is on the phytosanitary certificate.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1002)
1) The seeds have been produced in an area where Citrus canker (Xanthomonas campestris pv. citri) and Citrus greening (Candidatus liberibacter spp.) are absent.
