All plants in the consignment are to be officially inspected and to be found free of any visually detectable regulated pests.
If visually detectable pests are found which are not listed in the Department of Agriculture New Zealand import health standard, the pests regulatory status must be established prior to certification.

Exporters have the choice of certifying to the media requirements as per endorsement 1917.

Plants which have been raised in media containing soil must have the roots of the plants dipped in Fenamiphos at 1.6g a.i. per litre of water for 30 minutes.
All plants must be treated for insects and mites as Section 2.2.1.06 (b) of the Department of Agriculture New Zealand Standard 155.02.06: Importation of Nursery Stock (published on the Department of Agriculture New Zealand web site)
If any required treatment is not completed within the prescribed period prior to export, these measures must be completed in New Zealand where such services are available, and by prior arrangement with MPI
