Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds, contaminants and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented at the time of making appointment for an inspection with an Authorised Officer.

Plants must be bare rooted.

Each type of plant in the consignment must be clearly identified with its the scientific name (genus and species).

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and to present to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

All plants in the consignment are to be officially inspected and to be found free of any visually detectable regulated pests.

If visually detectable pests are found which are not listed in the Biosecurity New Zealand import health standard, the pests regulatory status must be established prior to certification.

All plants must be treated for insects and mites as Section 2.2.1.6 (b) of the Ministry of Primary Industries Standard 155.02.06: Importation of Nursery Stock (published on the MPI web site).

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and to present to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Details of treatment must be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

If any required treatment is not completed within the prescribed period prior to export, these measures must be completed in New Zealand where such services are available, and by prior arrangement with MPI.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement No 1890)
1) The plants were raised from seed/cuttings in soil-less rooting media in containers maintained out of contact with the soil.
2) The plants have only been grown in, and exported from, the country of origin, Australia, which is free from Xylella fastidiosa.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement No 1915)
1) The roots of the plants have been dipped in Fenamiphos at 1.6g a.i. per litre of water for 30 minutes.
