The import conditions apply to the following nuts:
- Shelled and whole (unshelled) almonds (Prunus dulcis)
- Apricot kernels (Prunus armeniaca)
- Brazil nuts (Bertholletia excelsa)
- Whole candle nuts (Aleurites moluccana)
- Cashews (Anacardium occidentale)
- Shelled and whole chestnuts (Castanea sativa)
- Dried whole coconuts (Cocos nucifera) without husk and outer shell
- Whole dry ginkgos (Ginkgo biloba) with no fleshy material
- Shelled and whole hazelnuts (Corylus spp)
- Whole hickory nuts (Carya spp)
- Whole lotus nuts (Nelumbo nucifera)
- Shelled and whole macadamias (Macadamia integrifolia)
- Shelled and unshelled peanuts or groundnuts (Arachis hypogaea)
- Shelled and whole pecans (Carya illinoensis)
- Pine nuts (Pinus spp) - Clean, extracted from the cone and free of any cone scales (woody covering)
- Pistachios (Pistacia vera)
- Shelled Tahitian/Island/Polynesian chestnuts (Inocarpus fagifer)
- Shelled and whole (unbleached or bleached) walnuts (Juglans spp)
The following nut commodities will be subject to on-arrival treatment in New Zealand as per the Import Health Standard: Stored Plant Products for Human Consumption (SPP.HUMAN. IHS) dated 14 November 2018.

- Whole hickory nuts (Carya spp)
