Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Note:
New Zealand requires complete scientific name (genus and species) on thephytosanitary certificate. The exporter must specify the complete scientificname (genus and species) when raising a RFP.

Consignments are to be treated with one of the following:


  • Carboxin at 0.8g a.i. per kg seed and thiram at 1g a.i. per kg seed;

OR

  • Carboxin at 0.8g a.i. per kg seed and captan at 0.7g a.i. per kg seed;

OR

  •  Imazalil at 80mg a.i. per kg seed and triadimenol at 220mg a.i. per kg seed;

OR

  •  Imazalil at 80mg a.i. per kg seed and flutriafol at 80mg a.i. per kg seed.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Seed for sowing that does not meet the requirements of the NZ Ministry for Primary Industries import health standard will not be given Department of Agriculture clearance on arrival in New Zealand. Seed requiring treatment may be imported into New Zealand untreated but will not be given Department of Agriculture clearance until an approved treatment has been applied.
