The grains/seeds in the consignment are packaged in hermetically sealed bags of more than 1 Kg (when specified on the import permit).
Paddy rice grains are prohibited to import.
Packages shall not be contaminated with soil, plant material or animal material not permitted by this permit.
Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 656:
- Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus) and Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) are not present in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
- This endorsement can only be used for consignments of Australia origin.
- If this endorsement is used, no consignment treatment is required.
Nil Endorsement:
- Nil Endorsement to be used for consignments not of Australia origin.
- Products not of Australian origin may require treatment for Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus) and Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) as per New Caledonia's requirement. Please contact the Grain and Seed Export Program (Grain.Export@aff.gov.au) if your import permit requires treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate.
