Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds, disease symptoms and extraneous material including other plant material and material of animal origin.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


Each package must be clearly labelled with the botanical name (genus and species).

Packages must be free of litter, soil, leaves, compost or any other prohibited organic material.

Consignment must be accompanied by a supplier's declaration stating seeds are non-genetically modified organisms.
Non-commercial consignments up to 100 grm are to be treated prior to export with an insecticide and fungicide at recommended manufacturer's requirements.; and

Consignments presented in commercial packaging greater than 100 grams per unit are to be treated with one of the following combination of fungicides at recommended manufacturer's label rates:

  • Carboxin and Thiram;

OR

  • Carboxin and Captan;

OR

  • Imazalil and Triadimenol;

OR

  • Imazaliland Fluotrifol;

OR

  • any other equivalent approved fungicidal treatment.

 

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) Downy mildew of millet (Sclerospora graminicola), Maize downy mildew (Peronosclerospora maydis) and Sorghum downy mildew (Peronosclerospora sorghi) are not known to occur in Australia.
