Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignments are to be bare-rooted, dormant and free offlowers and fruits.

Each plant in the consignment is to be clearly identifiedusing an individual label bearing the scientific name (genus and species).

Plant material must originate from nurseries which aremembers of the Nursery Industry Accreditation Scheme Australia (NIASA).
Consignments are to be treated with:

  • An appropriate insecticide and fungicide by dipping or spraying, at recommended manufacturers requirements;

AND

  • Roots of the plants to be treated with an appropriate nematicide, at recommended manufacturers requirements, less than 15 days prior to shipment.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
