Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds, extraneous material, fruits, litter, leaves, compost and any other prohibited organic material.
If required by the import permit then consignments are to be accompanied by a supplier's declaration stating that the plants are not genetically modified organisms.
Each plant must be clearly and individually labelled with the genus and species name.
Plants must be bare rooted and thoroughly cleaned.
Where applicable, plants can be exported in an authorised transport support medium, new and non-adhesive to the root system. Authorised transport support media include: charcoal, wooden baskets, cork beads, sawdust, rockwool, perlite, vermiculite, pure peat, clay beads (expanded or fired), ground coconut shell, pumice, recycled paper, sphagnum moss and coconut fibre. These products must not contain seeds, soil, undecomposed foreign plant or animal material.
