Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.

The Tissue culture will have to comply with the following:
  • Each type of plant/cuttings in the consignment must be clearly identified with the correct botanical name (genus and species).
  • Be in closed, rigid, sterile containers made of a clear material to allow for visual inspection of the plantlets and medium
  • Show a normal level of development (young leaves, callus or young roots).
  • Be set on a clear, solid, aseptic medium, free of antibiotics. 
  • Their cultivation medium must not show any symptoms of disease or contamination.
  • The shipment to be covered by a supplier' s declaration stating that the plants are non-genetically modified organism.
