Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Packages must be free of litter, soil, leaves, compost or any other prohibited organic material.

Import permits are not required for consignments packed bulk into containers/bulk vessels or in bulka bags. Consignments in smaller packaging require import permits - in this case, a copy of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection.

1) Greater grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus) and Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) are not known to occur in Australia.
