Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Packages shall not be contaminated with soil, plant material or animal material not permitted by this permit.

It is exporters responsibility to ensure that consignments are packaged in hermetically sealed commercial packaging meant for direct sale (when specified on the import permit).
The kernels have been treated with heat at 85°C for 1 minute.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) Larger grain borer (Prostephanus truncatus), Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium), Stewart's disease (Pantoea stewartii), Maize downy mildew (Peronosclerospora maydis), Sorghum downy mildew (Peronosclerospora sorghi), Sugarcane downy mildew (Peronosclerospora sacchari) and Philippine downy mildew (Peronosclerospora philippinensis) are not known to occur in Australia.
