A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
 
All consignments are to be free of viable seeds.
 
Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 3099:

Applies to consignments which have undergone irradiation treatment.
Endorsement 4889:

Applies to consignments which have undergone heat treatment.

Endorsement 3412:

Applies to consignments which have undergone methyl bromide fumigation and have also been inspected by the Authorised Officer applying a nil tolerance for whole seeds of any species.

Endorsement 4888:

Applies to consignments which have undergone methyl bromide fumigation and have undergone laboratory analysis for seed viability.
Methyl bromide fumigation at:

  • 48 grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius or above for 24 hours;

OR

  • 56 grm/m3 at 16-20 degrees Celsius for 24 hours;

OR

  • 64 grm/m3 at 10-15 degrees Celsius for 24 hours;

 


If methyl bromide fumigation is undertaken the consignment must also be inspected with a nil tolerance for whole seeds of any species or undergone laboratory analysis for seed viability.

OR

Consignments are to undergo heat treatment at 85 degrees celsius for 8 hours to ensure freedom from live insects and viable seeds.

OR

Consignments are to undergo irradiation treatment at 25 kGy to ensure freedom from live insects and viable seeds.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 3099)
1) The consignment was irradiated at 25 kGy and contains no viable seeds.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 4889)
1) The consignment was heat treated at 85 degrees Celsius for 8 hours and contains no viable seeds.

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 3412)
1) A representative sample was inspected and found free of viable seeds. 

Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 4888)
1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of viable seeds.
